Key responsibilities:
- Monitoring health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace
- Advising employees on how to minimise or ultimately avoid risks and hazards in the workplace and providing support on all matters relating to health, safety and wellbeing
- Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
- Working with and training all employees to manage, monitor and improve the health and safety standards in the workplace
- Being responsible for all fire safety inspections in the workplace
- Assisting with the creation and management of health and safety monitoring systems and policies in the workplace
- Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders
- Designing, implementing and monitoring policy and plans, including accident and incident investigation reporting and analysis, and promoting improvements
- Monitoring the audit system and verifying audit reports
- Identifying and implementing new working practices, developing initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of the health, safety and wellbeing across the organisation
- Covering all sites across the organisation
- Ensuring compliance with OHW Service standards, policies and procedures
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand local requirements
- Contributing to the development of local SOP’s
Requirements:
- Experience in investigation of work accidents and recommendation of preventive measures
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage strategically and to identify practical solutions
- Ability to work sensitively with people and resolve conflict
- Previous healthcare experience
- Proven experience managing other HSE professionals and ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation
- Excellent understanding of operations, procedures and culture
- Project management experience, strong leadership skills, good organisational skills and ability to use own initiative
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Valid Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
