We would like to give an opportunity for young talents in the last 1-2 years of their University studies, passionate about the aviation, to fly into the world of Wizz Air.
You will discover and experience full scope of activities of
one selected Function within Wizz Air's Headquarter in Budapest. While rotating between the Functional Departments over a period of 1-2 years, you will be learning live from real industry experts, working on transformative, complex projects and can land yourself a full-time employment with Wizz Air.

1. Purpose of the position:

 

The Central Operations function is driving Wizz Air Group operation strategy, developing and supporting the growth plan with long term industry leading solution and processes. The function leads operation business development and supports all individual airlines with services to deliver operational excellence. The function covers operations planning, operation control that is the complex decision making and optimization centre of the company, technical services as well as group level operation related training service provider. The function also drives the cross functional project management and oversight of all complex projects that are driving cost improvement, sustainability, process development and system development through automation.

The organization is responsible for the operation strategy development and execution and delivering consistent services to all group airlines.

 

2. PLACE WITHIN THE function and responsibilities:

 

OPERATIONS PLANNING DEPARTMENT: 

 

The Operations Planning department is responsible for the translation of the commercial program to operation implementation plan. The team leads and coordinates the cross functional operation plan of various departments. The team also responsible for crew planning and optimization that is supported by sophisticated planning and optimizer tool.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Supporting the planning manager in cross functional planning work
  • System automation project support with process mapping
  • Crew planning process development analysis and improvement definition

 

CREW RESOURCES DEPARTMENT: 

 

Responsible for recruitment efforts from initial sourcing, screening and testing to offer acceptance, for all pilot and cabin crew related recruitment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Execute sourcing activities, including but not limited to: active resume database searches, job fairs, industry networking, advertisements, internet posting, building and managing career site for pilots, social media, employment agencies and employee referrals
  • Develops new recruiting sources, makes benchmarks, actively search for new sourcing opportunities and markets to be targeted
  • Develop and lead the strategy to achieve better efficiency while maintaining the highest crew recruitment standards

 

TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT: 

 

The department manages the major technical contracts and partners, developing the airlines maintenance program and responsible for delivering and supporting the daily technical support. The management of new aircraft deliveries and return of expiring lease contracts are also integrated part of the team activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Involvement in contract negotiations and business support of the financial modelling those projects. Participation of contract negotiation meetings.
  • Supporting development of KPIs how to measure the service level of certain suppliers

 

OPERATIONS CONTROL DEPARTMENT: 

 

Central Management of the daily aircraft and crew operation in order to deliver on time performance. The team mitigates the daily operation disruption and re-planning of the daily operation activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Supporting disruption management tool development and implementation with process definition and mapping. 
  • Analysis of disruption routes causes and internal reports. Supporting further development of these reports.
  • Short term crew availability management

 

GROUP TRAINING DEPARTMENT: 

 

Developing the competing the pilot and cabin crew training activities. The team responsible for consistent training program development and delivery. Manging and securing the flight simulator requirements and resources. The team also delivers and pilot training and CADET program and coordination.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Supporting the further developing of the training planning tool
  • Project management and coordination
  • Benchmarking the internal flight crew services provider market and exploring third party service options
