Data Governance & Enablement Manager 

Based in BUD - Office 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

 

The Data Governance & Enablement Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of Wizz Air’s data ecosystem. This position is responsible for the joint management of key teams within a semi-agile organization, overseeing the Data Governance Center of Excellence (CoE), Data Business Analytics and Partnering Chapter, Report Development Chapter, and managing the Data DevOps Product Owner. Wizz Air is committed to driving business optimization and customer engagement through the deployment of state-of-the-art decision support tools across the entire enterprise. Reporting to the Senior Data Manager within the Digital organization, the Data Governance & Enablement Manager is crucial in establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework, ensuring data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Data Governance CoE, Data Business Analytics and Partnering Chapter, Report Development Chapter and Data DevOps teams.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with data policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of data stewardship and best practices.
  • Facilitates collaboration between business units and data teams to align data initiatives with business needs.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of data analytics platforms, particularly Power BI.
  • Provide professional guidance and support for data reporting and development.
  • Manage end-to-end DevOps processes to ensure efficient data operations.
  • Continuously improve data workflows and operational efficiency.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Governance and/or Advanced Analytics domains
  • Experience in managing a developer team, preferably including vendor management
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms, particularly Power BI and Azure DevOps
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in a semi-agile or agile organizational environment is a plus
  • Dedication, positivity, integrity and inclusivity
  • Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
