EU and UK Affairs Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

 

Protect the interests and support the growth and profitability ambitions of Wizz Air in the changing regulatory environment, and lead the debate on sustainability at EU, Member States, and UK level.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Continuous monitoring of legislative processes in the European Commission, Member States, and UK.
  • Performance of regulatory risk assessments.
  • Development and implementation of lobbying strategies and position papers together with the relevant departments.
  • Development of a comprehensive sustainability narrative that highlights how Wizz Air contributes to the EU, UK, and national climate targets.
  • Development of a detailed engagement plan and targets, continuous monitoring of progress.
  • Representation of Wizz Air Group interests vis-à-vis institutions, Member States, associations, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Building and maintaining a strong network at the EU, UK, and when required, Maltese institutions.
  • Establishment of working relationships, trust, and credibility with key policy influencers.
  • Planning and preparation of CEO and Leadership Team visits with key stakeholders.
  • Organisation of regular targeted meetings and debates.
  • Positioning of Wizz Air as a thought-leader in aviation.
  • Participation in industry events.


KPIs:

  • Number of engagements.
  • Frequency of engagements with key influencers.
  • Number of key position papers.
  • Number of achieved positive results.
  • Media content KPIs.
  • Internal Relationships:
  • CEO, Leadership Team, Commercial, Legal, Airport Development, Communications.

Requirements:

 

  • 4-6+ years overall working experience, with at least 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a comparable position
  • Legislative and regulatory monitoring (EU, UK, Member States)
  • Regulatory risk assessment
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, political science, law, or EU studies
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • French is an advantage.
  • Interest in political and economic developments, especially in the field of aviation.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, systematic way of working.
  • Communicative, energetic, team-oriented, and resilient personality.
  • Ability to deal with conflict.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
