Junior Manager Ancillary 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Junior Manager Ancillary will play a key role in the optimization and management of the ancillary (non-ticket) portfolio consisting of multiple core, partner and value-added products. She/he will be responsible for generating incremental ancillary revenue, a very significant and growing source of income for Wizz Air. The Junior Manager Ancillary will report to the Ancillary Products Team Manager within the Commercial organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing the portfolio of ancillary streams, such as products and services, offered by Wizz Air and its partners. 
  • Analyzing and rigorously understanding each product definition, complexity and touchpoint performance with the goal of defining and implementing actions for continuous performance improvement. 
  • Implementation and impact measurement of digital optimizations on all channels, in cooperation with the E-Commerce team. 
  • Definition, value estimation and prioritization of the digital development backlog, in cooperation with the E-Commerce Product Manager. 
  • Exploring business and consumer behavior trends, analyzing profitability and building recommendations for senior management. 
  • Managing implementation of internal projects for existing ancillary revenue enhancements of WIZZ products and partners (improvements of sales coverage, better conversion, enhancement in collection rates and increase in unit revenue). 
  • Daily performance monitoring of each product in the portfolio and ensuring performance is in line or exceeds the budget. 
  • Management of Wizz Air’s airport fee compliance policy to ensure leakage is prevented. 
  • Monthly benchmarking of competitor ancillary service offers and fee levels. 
  • Taking responsibility and managing key partnerships accounts: 
  • managing tenders, partner selection and contracting, 
  • maintaining relationship with partner account managers, 
  • monitoring of financial performance, 
  • supervising of invoicing/payables/receivables, 
  • continuously identifying improvement opportunities for each partnership. 
  • Working with the team to constantly improve sales conversion rates and drive ancillary unit revenue improvement. 
  • Managing full product development process from concept definition, to business case preparation and project management of implementation. 
  • Identifying new partner ancillary revenue opportunities, defining business cases, negotiating commercial terms and managing cross-functional implementation of the identified partners. 
  • Working together with Marketing team on product marketing and Operations team on cost saving opportunities. 
  • Defining and improving cross-functional processes with the aim of maximizing ancillary revenue and customer convenience. 
  • Identifying new industry trends and technological innovations with the aim of potentially integrating them into the business. 
  • Participating and representing Ancillary Products team in cross-functional projects, as delegated. 

Experience

1-3+ years overall working experience, preferably in a creative business development role or aviation 

Hard skills

  • Solid analytical, numerical and problem solving skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability  
  • Advanced level of EXCEL and Power Point 

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Digital, Economics, or Marketing 

Language

Fluent English (both spoken and written)
