Wizz Air is looking for a Lead AccountantThe Lead Accountant will report to the Head of Accounting.  The Accounting team at Wizz Air has fully outsourced transactional accounting and as such is providing value-added services only to the Group.

Your key responsibilities will be:

 

  • Under direct guidance prepares, supports, and processes financial data using various accounting systems in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
  • Under minimal guidance, independently supports moderately complex accounting and financial analysis
  • Keep up to date with accounting principle developments and regulatory accounting developments in order to ensure the optimization of best practice
  • Daily accounting duties including the management of vendor master records, travel & expenditure reports, collections, corporate credit card reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and working with payroll
  • Reconcile and analyze the accounting and reporting of major subsidiaries
  • Complete various ad hoc accounting initiatives as assigned by management
  • Support Accounting Managers in preparing deliverables, reports & presentations to Senior Leadership
  • Develop the ability to see patterns or trends in processes, including key accounting estimates, and identify opportunities for standardization and optimization
  • Oversee and manage accounting staff
  • Set standards of excellence in Corporate Accounting's General Ledger work products, provide necessary training and hold staff accountable for adherence
  • Support external and internal audits
  • Provide guidance to other staff as appropriate, supporting transfer and retention of knowledge and enabling others to work efficiently and effectively

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's and Master's Degree in economics, finance or accounting
  • International accountancy license or qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc) is an advantage
  • 2+ years’ work experience in a similar area, preferably at a multinational company
  • Good Excel knowledge
  • Firm understanding of key accounting concepts, particularly IFRS
  • Strong interpersonal skills, thinking/problem solving and communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent English
