Operations Compliance Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Operations Compliance Manager ensures regulatory compliance across operational areas, including Flight Operations, Cabin Operations, Operations Control, Operations Planning, and Crew Training. The role involves managing compliance monitoring systems, identifying non-compliance issues, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain safety and regulatory standards. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring industry legislation changes, compliance trends and initiating compliance actions as required 
  • Raising any immediate concerns related to compliance with regulations that could put safety or the approval at risk, escalate findings and hazards if applicable 
  • Contributing to the development of Wizz Air’s Compliance Monitoring Function 
  • Participation in the promotion of a just and positive safety culture 
  • Supporting management of change processes and managing the related training program 
  • Ensuring that the activities of Wizz Air are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements relevant to assigned operational areas  
  • Implementing and monitoring the execution of the yearly compliance monitoring plans  
  • Providing feedback on compliance effectiveness and recommendations for further improvement 
  • Oversight and manage audits and inspections on assigned operational areas 
  • As a qualified auditor, executing full scale audits/inspections including their follow-up 
  • Oversight and manage IOSA program implementation 
  • Monitoring the implementation of actions taken to address non-compliance findings and evaluate their implementation/effectiveness 
  • Participation in development of policies, procedures and manual 
  • Liaison with assigned cross-functional areas on compliance matters 
  • Representing Wizz Air at relevant industry bodies as assigned 
  • Liaison with other external authorities and entities as assigned 
  • Participating in cross-functional projects 
  • Performing trainings as assigned  
  • Maintain and improve CMS documentation (OMM) and ensure availability and quality of CMS staff training 
  • Monitor regulatory changes and disseminate relevant information across the organization 
  • Monitor industry trends and hazards to implement proactive mitigation actions 

Experience

  • 3-5+ years of aviation work experience, including 2+ years in safety or compliance managerial roles 
  • Experience in management systems, compliance monitoring systems, safety management, risk management, and operations 

Hard skills

  • Good knowledge of SMS and compliance monitoring principles and requirements (EASA, ICAO, IOSA); 
  • Experience in management of complex projects; 
  • PC user skills at advanced level (MS Office); 

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 

Language

Fluent English (both written and spoken) 

Skills and competencies

  • Strong presentation skills; 
  • Data analysis skills and good knowledge of statistics; 
  • Ability to work independently; 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
