Retail Performance Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Retail Performance Manager supports the Retail Manager in driving the commercial performance of WIZZ Retail, with a strong focus on analytics, financial performance, and data-driven decision-making. 

The role is responsible for analysing onboard retail results, monitoring profitability at SKU and category level, translating insights into actionable recommendations and supporting Retail Manager. The position plays a key role in strengthening financial discipline, performance visibility, and strategic planning across inflight retail activities. 

Responsibilities

Retail Performance & Analytics 

  • Monitor and analyse onboard retail performance across SKUs, categories, bases, routes, and AOCs. 
  • Track revenue and related KPIs. 
  • Prepare regular performance reports, dashboards, and insights. 
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting retail profitability. 
  • Analyze pre- and post-implementation performance of retail initiatives, trials, and promotions to assess effectiveness and ROI. 

Financial & Commercial Support 

  • Support portfolio decisions through financial modelling and scenario analysis/business cases. 
  • Assist in evaluating business cases for new retail initiatives. 
  • Monitor cost drivers related to P&L lines. 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for retail revenues. 

Portfolio & Promotion Effectiveness 

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to streamline and improve the onboard assortment. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration/governance 

  • Provide daily support to Retail Manager. 
  • Work closely with the Retail Manager, Inflight Service Team, other internal teams and external partners. 
  • Provide analytical input to support crew commission schemes and incentive programmes. 
  • Support operational decisions by translating data into clear commercial recommendations. 
  • Support preparation of management presentations, business reviews, and decision papers related to retail performance. 

Tools, Data & Process Improvement 

  • Improve data quality, reporting processes, and analytical tools related to onboard retail. 
  • Support digital initiatives related to EPOS, reporting systems, and performance tracking. 
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of retail performance data across systems. 

Experience

  • 3-5+ overall working experience with at least 2+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Experience in analytics, commercial performance, finance, or business analysis roles. 
  • Exposure to retail, FMCG, aviation, or consumer-facing industries is an advantage. 

Hard skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail. 
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is an advantage. 
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. 
  • Commercial mindset with strong financial awareness.  

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or related field. 

Language

Fluent in English (both spoken and written)

Skills and competencies

  • Structured, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers and performance metrics. 
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills. 
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving airline environment.
