Security Desk Specialist 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Wizz Air Group Security Desk with its 24/7 global monitoring and management of security situations is an integral part of the security management. The Security Desk Supervisor acts as the main point of contact for corporate and operational security issues regarding the Wizz Air Group, especially outside of regular duty hours. In case of imminent danger, the Security Desk Supervisor takes immediate action and supports all AOCs. 

Responsibilities

The Security Desk Supervisor reports to the Security Operations Manager Wizz Air Central. 

  • Active flight monitoring for flights over or near conflict zones, cooperation with OCC and intelligence analysts team.   
  • Advisory and support function for corporate employees in critical issues around the network (i.e. threats, political issues, criminal acts). 
  • First point of contact for internal and external security institutions in critical security incidents. 
  • Support and consultations regarding INAD/DEPU/DEPA issues in close cooperation with AHD, crew, station personnel and immigration services/security institutions. INAD risk assessment and escorted removals. 
  • Advisory with “Unruly passenger” cases. 
  • Advisory and support function with weapons transportation issues (police officers traveling with weapon and sport weapon transportation). 
  • Warnings via ISOS/MedAire/Osprey portals in case of an acute emergency at a specific location. 
  • Threat assessment (bomb threats).  

 

Authorities of the function: 

  • Approve DEPU/DEPA passengers on Wizz Air flights. 
  • Arranging escorts in case no escorts are provided for DEPAs. 

Experience

  • Any work experience 
  • Previous aviation experience is a plus 
  • Previous security experience is a plus 

Hard skills

Computer proficiency (mainly Word, Excel) 

Education

Bachelor's or Master’s degree 

Language

Fluent in English (both written and spoken) 

Skills and competencies

  • Strong attention to details 
  • Excellent observational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Ability to work in 12 hours shifts (dayshifts and nightshifts) 
  • Solid decision-making
