Senior Indirect Sales Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Indirect Sales Sr Manager will be primarily responsible for: i) driving Allotment and Charter sales revenue, proposing and implementing the Indirect Sales Development Strategy across key market; ii) defining and implementing the Distribution strategy through API connections; and iii) leading the Sales team.  

The person is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Tour Operators, OTAs, aggregators and corporate partners, identifying new partners and opportunities, streamlining processes, and driving digitalization and automation within the Sales area to increase team efficiency. 

Responsibilities

  • Own and implement Wizz Air’s global B2B sales strategy, ensuring consistent delivery of revenue targets across all relevant markets. 
  • Define the multi-year API distribution strategy with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and revenue growth. 
  • Establish, grow, and maintain API-based partnerships and revenue growth with aggregators, TMCs, metasearch, OTAs and other indirect sales platforms. 
  • Negotiate distribution agreements with third parties, ensuring terms meet ULCC cost and margin targets. 
  • Oversee and implement the Indirect Sales Development Strategy across responsible markets. 
  • Assess interest for routes and provide valuable input to Network Development and Scheduling. 
  • Identify new sales opportunities and expand Wizz Air’s presence in strategic markets. 
  • Identify and lead digital and automation developments in line with best practices, aiming to improve B2B processes with Tour Operators and increase Sales team efficiency.  
  • Identify and lead digital and automation developments for the Agency Portal to enhance B2B processes with Travel Agencies using the Wizz Air portal network wide. 
  • Lead Go-to-Market entry strategy and actions for new markets Wizz Air is planning to enter. 
  • Represent Wizz Air at travel fairs, exhibitions, chamber of commerce meetings, and other relevant sales-related events. 
  • Conduct market visits to maintain relationships with tour operators and other B2B partners and gather first-hand market insights 
  • Promote the business to trade partners, tour operators, and travel agents, creating maximum brand awareness among trade partners for Wizz Air. 
  • Monitor market performance and competitive landscape, and lead the adaptation of sales strategies accordingly. 
  • Oversee the contracting of all concluded deals. 
  • Lead a team of sales professionals to build and maintain strong partnerships with travel trade partners, tour operators, and corporate clients, and to manage requests for seat allotments and charters. 
  • Propose organizational changes to the Indirect Sales team to support business goals. 
  • Allocate market responsibilities and tasks to the Sales team to create an efficient and effective team. 
  • Cooperate with the rest of the Commercial and Digital teams within Wizz Air. 

Experience

5-7+ years of working experience, with 4+years working experience in Sales experience in the travel industry (Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Airlines, etc.) 

Hard skills

  • Commercially minded with a strong sales attitude, utilizing data for decision making. 
  • Experience in managing complex projects and successfully aligning large organizations. 

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 

Language

Fluent in English (both written and spoken) 

Skills and competencies

  • Good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, ensuring tasks are prioritized and goals are met, has stamina. 
  • Result-oriented, persistent, dependable, and consistent. 
  • Proactive, willing to take initiative and shoulder responsibility. 
  • Ability to lead a team of 5-6 people. 
  • Willingness to travel across Europe and beyond.
