Technical Contract Manager 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role

The Technical Contract Manager is responsible for driving the strategic contracting framework across key MRO and supply chain categories, ensuring long-term value, operational resilience, and full alignment with CAMO and broader business objectives. The role acts as a senior interface between engineering, procurement, and suppliers, ensuring contracts deliver on performance, compliance, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical contracts across MRO and supply chain categories, ensuring performance, compliance, and cost targets are met  
  • Partner with Procurement in pre-award activities, contributing to sourcing strategies, commercial models (e.g. TCS, T&M), and negotiation preparation  
  • Monitor and drive supplier performance against agreed KPIs (TAT, OTD, reliability, quality, cost), initiating escalations where needed  
  • Support and lead regular performance and business reviews with MROs and repair providers 
  • Ensure contracts comply with EASA Part CAMO, Part M, and Part 145 requirements, embedding safety and compliance standards  
  • Oversee financial aspects of contracts, including invoice validation, cost tracking, budget adherence, and warranty claims  
  • Support supply chain continuity by identifying risks (e.g. single source, obsolescence) and contributing to mitigation plans, including AOG recovery  
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Material Planning, Safety & Compliance, Finance, Operations) to ensure contract deliverables are met  
  • Contribute to supplier risk management using operational data, audits, and performance insights  
  • Identify improvement opportunities, including cost savings, repair optimization, and alternative sourcing options  
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System requirements in line with OMM Section 4 and CAME Part 2 / Part 2A (including ISMS) 

Experience

  • 4–6+ years of relevant experience in aviation, technical procurement, contract management, or MRO environment  
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and technical contracts  
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration in a complex operational environment  
  • Experience supporting negotiations and supplier performance management

Hard skills

  • Understanding of MRO contracts and aviation supply chain  
  • Working knowledge of EASA regulations (Part CAMO, Part M, Part 145)  
  • Familiarity with commercial models (TCS, T&M; PBH is a plus)  
  • Ability to track and manage supplier KPIs and performance  
  • Basic financial and cost analysis capability  
  • Understanding of maintenance planning and reliability concepts is an advantage 

Education

Bachelor's or Master’s degree. 

Language

Fluent English (both written and spoken)
