Senior Network Development Manager 

Based in Abu Dhabi 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

The role is based in the Abu Dhabi Headquarters of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, subsidiary of the Wizz Air Group. The primary responsibility is to develop Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s route network and strategic planning to shape the future of the airline.

 

Reporting to: Head of Commercial Wizz Air Abu Dhabi

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing new commercial opportunities based on strategic fit, financial performance and growth potential
  • Developing and analysing financial forecasts for potential new routes and bases
  • Coordinating with Revenue Management, Airport Development, Sales, Government Affairs, Finance and Corporate Communications to develop and implement value adding network changes
  • Support and oversee the research and forecasting activities of existing and future routes scheduling to optimize and improve profitability.
  • Propose recommendations and identify potential solutions to network performance issues impacting on profitability and support the route network performance process to ensure the adoption of required actions
  • Make recommendations and identify opportunities on the basis of existing market data to support decisions on network planning, scheduling and alliance development to meet customer and business needs.
  • Provide senior management with accurate forecasts of seasonal capacity changes through detailed business cases supporting Company financial objectives
  • Help drive continuous improvement of network management processes, procedures and systems by troubleshooting problems and recommending and implementing new solutions and/or systems to optimize fleet planning and scheduling.
  • Supervise the preparation, maintenance and interpretation of flight profitability data to ensure alignment with forecasts
  • Working closely with the permits team and managing regulatory affairs of the network. Securing seasonal route permits and new route designations.
  • Assessing and interpreting market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice
  • Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities
  • Working with the Revenue Management and Airport Development teams to determine amendments to existing routes, frequencies and airports
  • Develop and manage relationships with the airports, Ministries, Tourism Organizations, and other stakeholders in the countries and regions under her/his responsibility.
  • Maintain relationships across the industry and participate in networking conferences and other forums
  • Working with the Revenue Management team to determine optimal frequency allocation
  • All of the above responsibilities will be managed in close coordination and with the support of Wizz Air Hungary Commercial department.
  • Present to Senior Management relevant business cases

 

Requirements:

  • Completed university or college degree is a must
  • At least 5 years in an airline commercial position or equivalent in other industries.
  • Proven track record of successful strategy implementation backed up with analytics and data
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Business mindset and ability to synthesize information into recommendations
  • A self-motivated individual with demonstrated capacity for ownership, and responsibility
  • Ability to work independently with strong drive towards exceeding the set goals
  • Good leadership and people management skills
  • Good oral and written presentations skills
  • Team work and strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluent spoken / written English
  • Ability to live and work in Abu Dhabi
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
