Accounting Manager 

Based in BUD - Office 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

Join our dynamic team at Wizz Air HQ as an Accounting Manager, where you'll take the lead in managing a range of accounting activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate policies, and external audits. Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Senior Accounting Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the monthly closing of accounts, report preparation, and coordination with Tax and Payroll providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to provide key expertise on IFRS and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Familiarize yourself with Wizz Air's Accounting Policy and stay abreast of accounting policies applied by key industry players.
  • Provide oversight on services from SSC and its subcontractors.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reporting according to company policies and IFRS.
  • Contribute to the monthly financial close process
  • Participate in the development/establishment of accounting policies, procedures
  • Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy in the general ledger, and financial statement classification and booking.
  • Overview the statutory financial statements preparation process of assigned entities/branches
  • Assist with the compilation of information for the preparation of tax returns.

 

Requirements:

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar (e.g., B.S. in Business with a major in Accounting) from a four-year college or university is required. Masters of Accountancy and/or MBA is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant is strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, inclusive of roles with increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
