Purpose of the position:
The Core Platform Manager at Wizz Air is responsible for the selection, customization, integration, and operation of the main business systems that run the airline. These systems include our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, our Passenger Service System (PSS), and our Airline Control System. As part of the job, the Core Platform Manager will lead a team of project managers, architects, business analytics, and developers to assess and implement necessary changes to core systems and their integrations. The role also has a significant financial component – the Core Platform Manager is accountable both for the resource costs as well as the spending toward the providers of our systems.
The ideal candidate will have a foundation in technology but a passion for management. The systems and integrations owned by this individual form the backbone of the airline and are the most critical for the continued operation and growth of the airline.
This position reports to the Head of Analytics and Core Platforms in the Digital organization.
Responsibilities include:
Support
- Ensure 7/24 L2 and L3 support is available for all core systems
- Ensure integration with security and identity management systems
- Maintain and analyze
- Create a short and mid-term plan for database size, upgrades
Project
- Work closely with product teams to ensure proper functional requirements
- Manage a team of 20-25 external resources including developers and project managers
- Drive prioritization and decision-making with a focus on business value
- Coordinate with cross-functional aviation teams to transform the business
General
- Manage budget, time, and developer resources
- Manage multiple vendors and participate in IT tenders
- Responsible for the yearly and quarterly budgeting process
- Form and manage Core Platform strategy, including industry benchmarking and competitor analysis
- Actively seeks opportunities, embracing the ideation process to leverage the possibilities in both “off-the-shelf” and custom enhancements of core systems
- Drive company-level training and engagement for core systems, and ensure alignment with enterprise master data program for effective integration with a data ecosystem
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology as Project Manager, Solution Architect, Business Analyst, or equivalent position.
- Experience in managing a developer team, preferably including vendor management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to cooperate with a variety of stakeholders, team player personality.
- Good project management skills.
- Preference for having worked with ERP development and integration or having a strong finance background
- Dedication, positivity, integrity and inclusivity.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for Technology Solutions
- Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
