Data Platform Manager 

Based in Budapest 

Purpose of the position:

The Data Platform Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of Wizz Air’s data ecosystem. This position is responsible for the joint management of five key teams: Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Data Operations, as well as managing the Data Mart Development Product Owner and Power BI Product Owner. Wizz Air is committed to driving business optimization and customer engagement through the deployment of state-of-the-art decision support tools across the entire enterprise. Reporting to the Senior Data Manager within the Digital organization, the Data Platform Manager is entrusted with the strategic vision, leadership, and execution required to drive data excellence, foster innovation, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Data Operations teams
• Provide strategic direction to the Azure Dev Ops Product Owner, Power BI Product Owner and API-PNR, ensuring alignment with overall data goals
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and integration processes to ensure data availability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate with other Data managers to define and implement data governance policies and standards
• Enforce data security and customer data protection policy where we do not tolerate any non-compliance
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards
• Manage the budget for data platform operations, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
• Monitor and evaluate emerging data technologies and trends to drive innovation and efficiency

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence and/or Advanced Analytics domains
• Experience in managing a developer team, preferably including vendor management
• Strong understanding of BI systems and processes
• In-depth knowledge of data governance, data integration, data architecture, and data engineering best practices.
• Experience with modern data technologies, tools, and cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of business intelligence and data visualization concepts, with experience in Power BI or similar tools
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to cooperate with a variety of stakeholders, team player personality
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for enterprise-level Business Intelligence solution
• Dedication, positivity, integrity and inclusivity
• Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary
• Fluent in spoken and written English
