Legal Manager - Litigation 

Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the role:

 

In your role as Wizz Air’s dedicated litigation counsel, you will be responsible for the litigation files, authority investigations (both competition and consumer protection) and administrative proceedings of the Wizz Air Group. You coordinate with management and commercial teams of the Company as well as attorneys, authorities and other staff supporting the growth of Wizz Air. The Legal Manager – Litigation will report to the Head of Legal, General Counsel and will partner closely with members of the relevant commercial teams. You will work on complex, high profile and international issues, will give pragmatic legal advice to drive Wizz Air’s business strategy and impressive expansion plans and will defend Wizz Air’s interests.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee and manage all of the group’s litigation files, including consumer affairs, competition and administrative proceedings
  • Develop and execute the litigation strategy in line with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Manage and coordinate external counsel across 20+ jurisdictions working on consumer and competition matters, administrative proceedings and litigation files
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Customer Experience team
  • Representation of the company in administrative hearings, litigation and/or the overseeing of such representation through external counsels
  • Serve as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and administrative bodies within the Wizz Air network
  • Managing internal know-how
  • Transform, develop and enforce compliance, training and policies
  • Identify potential legal risk, constraints and risk mitigation mechanisms
  • Project management and collaboration across functions
  • Manage and instruct external legal counsels and related budgets
  • The role will entail approximately 3-4 days of international travel per month

 

Requirements:

 

  • Law Degree
  • At least 3 years of aviation related work experience, of which at least 1 year at a reputable law firm or company
  • Proven track record on litigation and administrative proceedings, and experience dealing with regulatory authorities
  • Strong analytical capability, including during time critical periods
  • Fluent professional English both written and spoken
  • Excellent legal drafting skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing business needs as well as being independently proactive in generating action plans and structure
  • Excellent organizing, execution and coordinating skills
  • Pro-active and pragmatic attitude
  • Project management and / or transformation experience
  • Ability to travel
