Safety Systems and FDM Program Manager

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION

The Safety Systems and FDM Program Manager reports to the Head of Safety, Security and Compliance of Wizz Air Malta

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Safety Systems and FDM Program Manager are:

• Integration and analysis of data obtained from SMS, CMF, FDM, FRM and other internal and external sources;
• Administration, maintenance and development of Safety systems;
• Develop, manage and maintain FDM program to ensure compliance with ICAO guidance, EASA and local regulations and develop and maintain FDM program related processes and procedures;
• Manage all aspects of flight data retrieval, data processing, data analysis, validation and publication of recorded flight events;
• Performing daily assessments of collected FDM data in cooperation with FDM Captains;
• Performing statistical and trend analysis of safety events captured by FDM;
• Lialising with the team of FDM Captains and other Group Airline’s FDM Manager as relevant;
• Ensure that hazards identified through FDM are communicated to the responsible manager;
• Taking part in internal safety investigations;
• Performing Safety Performance Monitoring by FDM related SPI’s;
• Following industry Flight Data Analysis trends and worldwide safety events;
• Actively manages Flight Data Analysis, initiates SAG and if required other team meetings;
• Supply reports with summarized data on flight data analysis, trend reports, root cause analysis and suggested corrective actions to utilize safe and effective SMS;
• Performs specialized studies and fulfils special data requests and creates FDM department publications and manuals;
• Assist in the coordination of corrective actions with operating departments and facilitate Operational Risk Management techniques within the organization to mitigate identified risks;
• Assist is the development and maintenance of LOSA program;
• Represent the safety team at relevant industry and company meetings, industry conferences and training events;
• Ensuring aims and objectives of the FDM programme and KPIs are met and reviewed;
• Provision of training material and delivery of training in respect of usage of SMS and FDM IT systems.

• PC user skills at advanced level (MS Office)
• Good presentation skills
• Analytical skills, creativity
• Ability to work autonomously
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent data analytical skills and knowledge of data analysis methods and statistics
• Excellent usage of IT systems and tools
• Knowledge of safety management principles (EASA, ICAO, IOSA);
• Experience in air carrier operations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in Safety Management Systems and risk management
• Previous work experience with flight data monitoring program
• Bachelor degree or equivalent
• Fluent English (Written and spoken)
• Good understanding and experience with data analytics and data integration
